Happy International Women's Day!
NNA-TV wishes all its readers a happy International Women's Day.
It is traditional in Ahiska, as elsewhere in the former Soviet Union, for men to congratulate female relatives, friends and colleagues on International Women's Day.
German socialist Clara Zetkin pushed for the creation of an International Women’s Day. The first day was held in 1911, with over one million people demonstrating in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland for the vote for women and good working conditions with equal pay.The day was always marked in the Soviet Union but did not become a non-working day until 1966.
Last but not least, we'll celebrate the International Women's Day with an Ahiskan flare.
